Plus One Collection Prints - Print #2

Going back to introducing fine art prints that will ship with Limited Edition version of +Plus One Collection - here's one by the one and only +Karen Hutton

I've seen thousands of railroad track images over the years. But none were like that. The colors and lines simply sing. One of the gems in the #plusonecollection2012 - no doubt about that.

Only 5 days to pre-order your book, and to become one of the supporters of the project. Amazing campaign so far - and 331 of you are supporters. Very proud of our generous community and so excited about what we'll do with the funds raised and our support of The Kilgoris Project.

Misty Winter afternoon...

I just got back into Queenstown after an amazing whirlwind photo trip around the South Island (New Zealand) with my good friend Dean Fitzpatrick.

We had beaches, rivers, mountains, desert, waterfalls, caves, glaciers, stars and a full moon.

We were checking out logistics and revisiting unique off the beaten track locations for upcoming New Zealand photo tours.

Lots and lots of fun and photos - but not too much sleep :-)
This morning started with paddle boarding a pre breakfast swim before heading back to civilisation :-)

First shoot with Shauntia.

I'd say a new chapter has begun...but I'm upgrading that to "a new book has begun".

I am just back from a very disappointing sunrise shooting.
I drove to Doolough to capture the sky's reflections on the water surface with the boat in the foreground.
When I left the house at 7.15am I could see a few small clouds and the already a bit of blue and yellow shimmer on the horizon. After arriving at the location at 7.30am, thin clouds were coming in from the west, which usually even add great colours to the sunrise. When dawn started at 7.54am the clouds were getting thicker and a race between the slowly rising sun and the moving clouds began. In the end the clouds won and I didn't see the sun or any interesting colour at all.
I took this single shot, just to have not wasted the whole trip and waited another hour to be sure I won't miss anything. When the rain set in I thought it might be time to declare defeat and to head home.

It doesn't look like any major weather improvement throughout the day, so I am catching up on some sleep now.

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
