218: 08/05/2012: Afternoon Walk on a Sunday
#creative366project

I took a walk from Shimokitazawa to Shibuya, and back to Komaba-Todaimae. The route was mostly in a residential area in Setagaya and Shibuya. From the start, I knew there would be be no gorgeous subjects, but sometimes I need to try something different.

今日は渋谷に行く用事があったのですが、思い立って井の頭線を下北沢で降り、そこから渋谷までてくてく散歩。ほぼ住宅街のルートでいったい何が見つかるのか…。

Did you know you can take pictures of lightnings with long exposure?

Well.... I guess it makes sense, but I was amazed to find a lightning in one of my LE shots from earlier today!  I remember it striking, as I wondered if the bright light would have any effect on the time needed to expose - but I never thought it would show up on the photo!

This is obviously just a small crop out of the large picture - so the quality is somewhat terrible - but still, you can see the lightning quite clearly.

I'm always learning something new ;)))

It's All Over But The Eating…….

This is a black bear that I was photographing in Valdez Alaska, but the thing about this bear was what he was doing with the fish…. This black bears was stacking all the fish he was catching and to top it off this blackie was very good at catching these fish…..he caught about 10 fish in about 20 minutes and after he caught and stacked them up, he started to eat them all …. I have never seen that in a bear in all my years of studying and photographing bears. I tried taking a image of all the fish that he stacked in the brush to show everyone,… but when I tried, the blackie was not having any of that.

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
