Sunny Side Up Please

Good morning/afternoon/evening all!!!!  It is time for #FloralFriday again!!!!  HOORAY!!  I hope you all are having as great of a day as I am!  :D

Here is the pertinent info for the day:

Be sure to use the hashtag " #FloralFriday " and you can tag +FloralFriday in your photos and they should show up on the page. I can't stress enough, it is very important to put your hashtag on your post - that is what people search for! You can also mention me, like this - +Tamara Pruessner. You don't have to actually tag me in the flower photo - just +mention my name.

I might share a few on the FloralFriday page and here.   :D Also...(I was asked about this) in order for me to share your photo, it has to be a public post that is unlocked. Otherwise, I am assuming you don't want it shared.  I do not share everyone's photos - please do not get upset w/ me if yours doesn't get shared.  I just pick out a random few every week to share and I try to get different people each time.

Please be sure to share this post with the instructions for #FloralFriday , if you want to be a part of the fun and spread the word far and wide and have EVEN MORE flowers in your stream!

From Alaska, with love
Tufted Puffin

It's been a tough week here in ST. Paul, Alaska. The weather has been miserable with lots of rain, mist, clouds and high winds, making it very
challenging to photograph birds. Hanging at the edge of the cliff in
blowing winds and photographing birds while hand holding the 500mm
lens has been an experience :)

Lucky to have found an internet connection on this lonely island so posting
on my last day here.

Have a great Weekend everyone :)

Another incredible set of jaws on a great white shark near Seal Island, False Bay, South Africa. This is one of natures marvels and was really a sight to behold! Let's hope that these incredible creatures will survive for generations to come.
This shark was attacking a seal decoy being towed behind the boat. The action happens so fast and without warning that it is very easy to miss... The decoy is used by researchers to study the Great White's unique feeding behavior in False Bay.
I chose to lie on the deck of the boat shooting out the open transom to get the low angle.

 Vatnajökull, Iceland

Vatnajökull is the second largest glacier in Europe, covering nearly one tenth of Iceland's landmass. As you drive along the southerly part of Route 1 that circles Iceland, the enormous glacier, which is 1000m thick in places, comes down to meet the road. It is truly an amazing spectacle.

Alpine thistle with lightened peaks of the Stubai Alps
Another one from my recent trip to the Stubai Alps. When I crossed this creek the first thing I saw was this huge alpine thistle you can see in the foreground. In this altitude a lot of sheep have nothing better to do than finding the finest and juiciest plants. With their pointed and sharp leaves the alpine thistle has an effective strategy not to be eaten. And they love fresh and cold water nearby, I guess...

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
