People probably would say:"Hey, that's the land of Mars" hehe, maybe but my imagination is endless and there's always a huge piece of my soul in my work, so if you can feel this energy, it is definately coming from me! :-)
Maybe the mood is to dark and a lot of people would see it in a lighter version, but than it's not me that it represent.

Improving Weather

True to form this current British Summer has been atrocious! Here we are in June and the days I've gone around in a t-shirt can be counted on one hand (for the whole year). Today for example we woke to a heavy drizzle and limited visibility, everything wet through and no definition to the blanket of cloud that sat above us.
In the afternoon, it did improve to the point of the edgeless skies were replaced with these stormy looking buggers!
Looking like another miserable wet weekend too...

Photographing thunderstorms in Arizona is my passion. I love every minute I'm out there. Part of the addiction is feeling 100% alive while out there chasing. I cannot wait for this season's show! ;)

Returning to the Scene of the Crime

Theme: #Rural   #Ontario

Does returning to the scene of a previous photo pay dividends? It certainly does! I posted an image from this location here ---> http://goo.gl/9F2a7

First I will explain the events of tonight...  So I have a gig shooting 50 images for a client in and around a small town in Ontario. I have begun scouting locations and getting a good lay of the land. I head out tonight because, well there are severe thunderstorms moving in and conditions are amazing. First the heavy rain, then the lightening starts. Ok this is looking good!

So I'm waiting for the magic to happen and the phone rings, it's my wife calling saying the car is dead and she needs a boost. Well that means a drive home for booster cables then out to where she is, decision time... do I let her fend for herself and get the awesome shots or help her? Well of course I help her.

I finish up 45 minutes later and I'm back on track. Then the magic happens just as I start heading back to my location. I turn around to see a full-on double rainbow the full span from ground to ground, this is my pot of gold!

Not so fast, I'm in a bad location with no good vantage point, so I make a decision to race back to my location, on the way I find a suitable spot to capture the rainbow in all its glory. I jump out of the car get my gear and poof a large portion of the rainbow fades. Just my luck...

At least I was able to capture the remnants of such a beautiful sight and I did experience the entire night which is now burnt into my memory.

"ElephantScape"
African Elephant
Madikwe Game Reserve, South Africa

How could I let a day go by without adding an image to +Elephant Wednesday ( #elephantwednesday )?? One of my favourite themes on G+, this one is curated by +Diego Cattaneo, +Louisa Catharine Forsyth and +Matthias Haeussler.

This is also a submission for another favourite theme: #wednesdaywildlife curated by +Mike Spinak. Lastly, it's also for #widewednesdaypanorama (+WideWednesdayPanorama) curated by +Ken McMahon and +Lucille Galleli.

This large African Elephant was ambling along under a wonderful African sky, so I reached for my wide angle lens which was mounted on my backup camera next to me. I love the end-result...don't you?? I love incorporating the landscape and environment into animal portraits - I call them "animalscapes", or in this case, and "elephantscape".

Glade Creek Grist Mill at Babcock State Park in WV.

Taken while visiting some of this beautiful state's amazing waterfalls. The light was not the best, but I think the resulting image is nice enough.

I would love to hear what you think.

Thanks again to my guides while in WV: +Randall Sanger, +Michael Hensley and +Sarah Hampton

Take a Look, A Closer Look...

This is one of those portraits of compassion I did for the woman who did not get onto the TV show shared a couple weeks ago. She loved this photo as her favorite, by the way. The web version never fully captures the full version as I post in low resolution, but I still like this one.

Anyway, I share this photo as encouragement to you and also myself to take a closer look at opportunities and people presented in your lives. Actions -- listen to them more than words. By doing so, we honor ourselves.

Even that which comes with a shiny, pretty bow and, in particular, those who whisper sweet nothings require a closer look.

Just thinking out loud here, but sweet whisperings should amount to something rather than nothing! I, definitely, think so.

I've consumed coins like a jukebox and played my heart songs.

Namaste

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
