Sometimes, you and +Jessa Peters  are walking down S. Congress St. in Austin, TX when you suddenly have an idea for a photo (and you happen to have your camera with you), so you stop to get the shot. Of course, to get the angle you want, you have to lay on the ground, with your head kind-of just inside a planted area, and you have to move some of the shrubbery branches off to the side (so they don't get in front of the lens), so you grab a handful, and sort-of tuck them down into a different section of the shrub. And right as you press the button, the bunch of branches you so carefully tucked aside decide to liberate themselves, and slap you in the face, filling your mouth with little branches and berries and who-knows-what-else...as of someone loaded up a slingshot with a bit of not-so-flavourful salad and let it fly at your face. And then Jessa laughs.

Sometimes.

Well, it happened to me once, anyway :)

#Albumtheme: The Blue Planet
#landscapephotography

I love photographing at the Blue hour that occurs before the sun comes up or after the sun had gone down. Blue hour photography is often characterized by long shutter speeds at low light but there is enough light to capture to make the mist or water (reflected surfaces) stand out from the deep blue light as seen in this photograph from Grand Tetons.

This weeks album theme is the Color Blue...I have arranged first 25 images in my gallery to showcase the color blue found in nature.

Enjoy & Share.

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
