I hope you can hear me as I call out to you.

Each week I always express my joy for another Thursday because I really enjoy going through all of the contributions to #ThirstyThursdayPics , and here on the one year anniversary of Google+ I'm proud to say that my joy is still strong. I love starting the day scrolling through all of the contributions that have been posted overnight from so many talented photographers all over the world. It's also a good feeling to know that each week I can call out and say "It's Thirsty Thursday Pics time" and so many of you have great shots ready to post and share with the rest of us in the stream.

So keep 'em coming because the day is super young and as always don't forget to use the #ThirstyThursdayPics  hashtag and to also tag our captain +Giuseppe Basile. ;-)

+Damn Near Died Thursday  by +Dan Ballard

In the mountains, making the right decisions means a lot. If they are wrong, it could have been your last trip at all. But "right" is always synonym to justifiable.

In the Mont Blanc area, you can ascend the huge Glacier des Bossons towards Mont Blanc and other peaks. You can ski down the same route back to the hut. Just be aware of a giant ice shield break-off zone far above your head, sending down towers of ice randomly. We decided to take another route for the ascend and only ski down this icy zone, so we'd spend as few time as possible there. We had so many freshly crushed ice that the route was literally blocked. Being there just for a short time was, well, the "right" decision.

This tough guy is Herr +Daniel Arndt, making his way through a giant field of ice blocks weighing in at hundreds of pounds to many tons each. I don't cheat on their color; man, they were blue!

[broken verses]

there are
those few things
that stand across
all dark bridges ...
there are moments
that effectuate
all manner
of change ...
these are
the silent ellipses
that are simply
the broken verses ...
of time -

"Train Tracks" - http://www.createwithlightphotography.com

This is a 25 second exposure of the fantastic 444 Market Street building in San Francisco, California.

The clouds finally arrived for a brief time in the early evening during the week I was there. I ventured out after my conference and had such a great photographic session. The light was awesome and the sun was in the perfect position to create the "train tracks" on the part of the 444 Market Street building. I love San Fran and can't wait to go back and see all my friends again.

For some of you that don't know, architecture photography is my other passion. I have amazing artists like +Joel Tjintjelaar  , +kevin kwok  and +Klaus-Peter Kubik  to thank for that, as their work continues to inspire me and blow my mind. I am also dedicating this image to +Nathan Wirth  , as he is totally awesome and I know how much he loves this building. :-)

Techie stuff:

ISO: 100
Aperture: f/16
Exposure: 25 seconds
Focal Length: 45mm
Filters: Hitech Pro 10 stop ND filter

This is also my contribution to the #LongExposureThursday theme, kindly curated by +Francesco Gola  and +Le Quoc   , the #FineArtPls theme, curated by the lovely +Marina Chen  and +FineArtPls  , the #BWFineArt theme, curated by the amazing Mr +Joel Tjintjelaar  and +Black and White Fine Art Photography Gallery  , the #ArchtiecturalVisions theme curated by the lovely +Julia Anna Gospodarou  and +Joel Tjintjelaar  , the #architexturetuesday theme hosted by +Ranjan Saraswati  , #SquaresAreSassy curated by my dear friend, +Nathan Wirth  , and finally the #PlusPhotoExtract theme, run by +Jarek Klimek

All thoughts and comments welcome.

Bülk V

Sorry for a second image today, but I felt tempted to post another one from Bülk, just to fulfil the requirements of #LighthouseThursday kindly curated by +Heiko Köster. I gotta admit, that the first one from today probably was too minimal for the theme ;)

This is the Bülk Lighthouse / Leuchtturm as seen from the beach promenade in Strande near Kiel. It is the guidance and orientation for the entrance to the Kieler Förde and located at the Bülker Huk. Since 1807 lighthouses have been placed here. The current ligthhouse was established in 1862...well and as you can see, it looks quite dirty, just like it is crying for a wash me please ;)
It´s the last image out of this series (uhmm, not really, I forgot to post #III ). An uprising thunderstorm urged me to leave as quick as possible. So I took the last chance and made a quick 60 seconds exposure already in the rain.
For +Athena Carey:  When I was back in my car, rewatched the images on the cameras LCD, I made a final decision...the next lens in my bag will be the Canon 24mm TS/E II. Tried to do some perspective correction in pp, but that turned out pretty bad and I lost almost the entire pixels, beside that it looked awful. So I only can imagine how it might look like with a tilt/shift lens.

#LongexposureThursday curated by +Francesco Gola and +Le Quoc (sorry for having two images the same day)

#creative366project   #elevatedexpressways

I thought I wouldn't be able to find a vantage point for taking a photo of sunset on this day, I shot the sky from the bottom of the valley of tall constructions.

この日、空が急に色づいたのに気がついて、夕空を撮るのにいい場所を探しました。これはその道すがら、とりあえず撮っておかなくては!と思い、ビルの谷間から撮影した夕空です。西新宿JCT近くにて。

Hello dear friends!
As today I finally had the opportunity to have a day off, I reshare with you a shot taken in the place where I slept and swam all day long :D
By the way, this is my first shot shared here on G+ around one year ago..
The place is called Byron's Cave in the beautiful town of Portovenere, Italy.

I want to dedicate this share to my friend +Olaf Bathke, as this evening we'll "fight" against for the Euro 2012 in Germany vs Italy match.
A big hug to you and to all the German friends here on G+!

Ciao!

Re-sharing my first photo post to G+, since that's what all the cool kids are doing today on its one year anniversary.

This photo of Elowah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge was originally shared on September 18th, just before I left on an 8-week trip to Colorado and the southwest.

My first ever post to G+ was this (shared with friends only): "I'm going to create a new Google+ circle named "jerks". Do I even need to say the punchline?"

In pink #photography #cyprus #plusPhotoExtract

I was looking towards the sun and waiting for the right moment to take a picture, but at some point I realized, that the most interesting part of the sunset was directly behind my back! So I turned back immediately and took this photo :)

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
