This is one of the images coming from my studies on trees.
It will not be included in my final series, but I still think it's worth sharing.

It was shot last November, before winter arrived and make all the leaves on this black puplar fall.

I am about to complete (finally) the project I'm working on (since last September).
It evolved substantially by what I had in mind when I first started, and I am definitely happy with it.

You will see the images in the next months; meanwhile I will be updating these other ones, that have been sitting forgotten on my hard drive for too many months.

Sorry about my poor online activity lately, but I'm currently working on many important projects involving my future, and I just don't have enough time to spend here! I will try to catch up with your last images soon.

The Long Wait Is Over

Here’s she is--- the first shot from the new D800e!  Literally this is the first frame I shot with her.  All I can say is I am supremely impressed by this camera so far.  The dynamic range is eye popping as I can pull scenes together from one exposure that used to require two or more, and the shadows at normal ISO (100 through 800) are super clean, making it easy to bring out details without concern for introducing noise.  On the downside, every imperfection (blowing foliage, poor focusing) in the shot really comes through. There is definitely some moving foliage in this frame, but I wanted to post the first click of the shutter out so....
Can’t wait to see how she performs over the summer!

Have to give a big thanks to +Justin Reznick  who thought of me when a friend of his, Jim Newkirk, had the great misfortune of seeing not one, but two D800e’s show up at his house on the same day last week.  I was able to meet up with Jim and we spent a long, full day romping through the Gorge shooting many of its classic scenes.

Violent storm on Gap (Hautes Alpes) last night. Two hours of lightning, hail and water continuously.

A superb show after sunset.

One Minute in the Life of Toronto City Hall
I've had a mild obsession lately with cloud chasing. By capturing clouds in motion during the daytime, it gives static buildings like Toronto City Hall a more life-like feel to them. To me, they become alive. More than anything though, it is just fun stuff to photograph.

Phil from Arizona Part 2

If you are not familiar with Phil, check this out: http://goo.gl/UPFZZ

Phil was hanging out in the same spot as last time, although I hadn't seen him there for a few weeks. It's important to him that you understand "living on the streets isn't as easy as it looks". It takes a special mindset. He said, "There are a lot of people losing their homes these days. They are ending up on the street. They don't know how to handle it. They think about suicide. I don't believe in that."

Phil sleeps near friends whenever he can. "We watch each other's back. We look out for each other." He said the mission in Los Angeles is too unsafe. "I won't sleep there, it's crazy." He was happy to pose for me again. He hopes you think about the struggle of the homeless when you see his portrait.

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
