I'm back from visting my mother in a little secluded village in the Wendland region without internet connection. :)

Here is another lioness image early in the moning, but this is in Ngorongoro  Conservation Area near Ndutu. She is a mom from two little cubs and was very excited because a lion was approaching.

+Remo Primatesta Alles Gute für dein neues Lebensjahr, Remo!!! Leider kann ich nicht mit einem Blumenfoto punkten, aber Löwenpower soll dich auch in frustigen Tagen begleiten!! :)

Run! Series

I just wanted to share this album again since I'm going to be busy working on some architectural drawings today. The series represents running through life from birth to death always pressured to get things done but never pausing to ask yourself why? Or realize the wonder of the world around you. This is one of my favourite series that I have made so far.

This little fly wasn't much bigger than a large grain of rice. Saw them flying around the Shasta daisies that are getting ready to burst in the garden.

If you view large you can make out each hair and all the facets of the eyes. I focus-stacked 74 separate images to get this DoF.

Key West Sunset Panorama

This is a pic I didn't know I had because I didn't realize it was a panorama until this morning.

Stepping Stones
From my blog: http://www.niophoto.com/stepping-stones/

When I first saw this scene, the two rocks in the water reminded me of stepping stones on the way to the beautiful mountains on the other side. Like phases in life that need to be lived to eventually get you where you want to be. I spent the first 40 years of my life working towards fulfilling my dream of living in the Alps during the other 80 years of my life and to work there as a photographer (yes, I am planning to be at least 120 years old one day). It was a challenging journey, however I did enjoy it and got there in the end! The scene also reminded me of something a ski teacher told me a long time ago, when he send me down a very steep triple diamond black trail somewhere in Canada with waaaaaay to many trees: “Forget about the trees. Just focus on the space in between them”! It worked (more or less)! So, try to forget about the stuff that might get you wet once in a while and you might be going places

This image features a couple of rocks in Lake Geneva (Lac Léman). In the background you can see the silhouette of the French Alps. I captured this image near Morges in Switzerland. I used a Lee 10-stop ND filter and a Lee 2-stop ND filter (to achieve an exposure of 60 seconds) in combination with a 2-stop graduated ND filter from +Singh-Ray Filters (to keep the sky in check). I processed the image with Adobe’s Lightroom 4.1 and Nik’s Silver Efex Pro 2.

The storms that smashed the South West of Western Australia over the weekend brought wild, windy and wet conditions. The combination of strong winds, heavy rain and a high tide presented shooting possibilities that don't come around too often.

Although this image was shot during fierce stormy conditions, the use of a long shutter speed (60 seconds) has resulted in a still, somewhat silent image.

I had visualized this image for a number of years now so it's good to finally put it in to pixels.

Dandelion for +Macro Monday. Fiddled around with Split Toning and such a bit, and liked the result. :)

50mm AF-D/1.8 (aka "pretty sharp for a lens cap") with +Douglas Knisely's 36mm extension tube. ;)

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
