Oh, it's a dreamy walk when you fall in love... Anonymous 12th Century Poet. Of all the colors, I find green to be the trickiest to deal with. Pastels, no problem. Deep blues, brilliant reds, and sort of burnt sienna - and they fall into place.

But green. Green should be the color of life. But it's the color of gloom. Here I try my hand at all types of greens, and still wind up with greens that belong in the backseat leather of very used Buicks.

Photographer Malpractice?
You know I've never done this before, but I wanted to full disclose that I cheated here. See this was a fantastic night for a sunset, only it wasn't in this direction. The color was really lighting up about 50 degrees to the right. I really wanted this comp, so I borrowed the sky that was just a bit off frame to the right.

It don't this case is completely cheating because I"m not taking a perfect sky and sticking on another landscape from another day and place. Perhaps I'm just justifying it in my mind, but heck it's beautiful and I really don't care :)

How are you willing to go when you process your photos?

I had just arrived into Amboselli after 8 days in the mara and when I jumped out of the Landrover my 500 slipped from my hands and landed on the stone pavers...UGH...nothing sounded broken but when I tested it I the images were soft and I figured I had knocked out the calibration.... I was there to focus on the herds in the dust and back lighting so the artistic look I was going for would not really be sharp anyway... so I decided to shoot and make the best of it...... things happen but you just have to shake it off and turn lemons into lemonade...... you can read more of the story here http://bit.ly/ksm4T0

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
