I seldom shoot these flowers because they are everywhere at this time of year, but last weekend I gave it a try when I saw the field full of them.

Wildebeest Crossing Last August we witnessed a few wildebeest river crossings from near our camp in the Masai Mara. This one added a few elements like the maribu storks (with vultures if you look closely) and the morning mist. By mist I mean dust mostly, but it was 6:30am in the morning so there was still a little dampness around. It was dark too, and I had to use an ISO setting of 6400. I wouldn't have dared tried settings like that a few years ago. (BTW, I made this a 1200px wide image, so it's worth a click on.)

This is one for +Monochrome Monday #monochromemonday

Delving back into some images from my time in the Canadian Rockies.

The light show on this particular morning was extremely intense. The peaks lit up a and a small rainbow briefly appeared. It was a mad rush to get to this nearby location and find a composition I was pleased with before the show was over!

Thanks in advance for any shares, plus 1's and comments

Ughhh, one in front, one in the neck

Poor Ghost crab, but did not shit it's pants. These little chaps are faster than we look :) This crab did not get any harm from me nor from the other person. But must admit, I did not get any Model release form signed by it :)
Was at the beach in Zinkwazi, if someone wants to know.

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
