A young lion from the group of the 13 that you saw on my last photo. It was a little later and the sun was shining.

Re-share of a picture that has special meaning to me.

I'm a guy who feels vivid emotions when I peer into a picture... but not usually my own picture. This one is different.

I wasn't happy with the first version I did of this one - it's funny what a critical eye can fail to find for hours while you're working on something and then after a few days you seem to have a list of faults for the same image in your own mind. So I did this again (which means I've probably spent about 15 hours on getting this one right so far!).

I'm thinking about this years entrants for the Take A View LPOTY and I already have a small set I'll be submitting. It's anyone's guess again whether anything I do is good enough, I got shortlisted but not printed last year, this year I desperately want one in that book... Anyway, this is one on the shortlist to go in.

Mercado Central - Valencia, Spain (HDR Vertorama)

Visit the photo page at [ bit.ly/fp-mercado ] to get all the details.

This image is featured in the April issue of Travel + Leisure (turn to page 40).

The Mercado Central (central market) of Valencia, Spain is one of the oldest running food markets in Europe. The most obvious feature of this art nouveau building (at least in my opinion) is the ceiling with its dome that floods the market with sun light. It was inaugurated in 1928.

Enjoy!

Carrion my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more

Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion
I was soaring ever higher
But I flew too high

C'mon...everybody sing along (corny as it may be)

Hello g+ buddies
I am re-sharing this image, it was one of my first scrapbook uploads. I had just finished training some Aussie Terrier pups and was heading back to my car when i saw this cat sitting on the edge of the pavement. I crossed the road towards him, iPhone at the ready, and he slowly backed under this door, looked left, looked right, and then one look at me...SNAP! :-))

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
