Tonight's camera porn: the Leica Summilux-M 50mm ƒ/1.4. This lens has recently become my favorite; it's simply the best lens I've ever used. I only with I could try it on a different body to see what it could do with a different sensor and different software. The Fuji X-Pro1 seems to be a good candidate for such an experiment.

A Sad Day :(

This is a shot I took a couple of years ago. I haven't revisited this shot nor reprocessed it but I thought its worth sharing again. But why repost after 2 years or so - well its no longer. One of my flickr contacts asked me how to get here last week, he went on Saturday specifically to take this tree - afterall its why we all go to this beach - I received an email last night saying that it had succumbed finally - I assume to the elements - but its flat on the beach now.

I've no idea how long it had stood there - but its quite a sad day really. I'd always planned to go back - in fact I have been back but conditions were never as I wanted them, wanting the tide to be around the trunk, maybe even splashing around but never really got what I was after - but I always told myself that I'd go back and it would be better. But its gone now.

"Par For Course"

Another shot from Lower Lewis River Falls, taken last August with +Brian Kibbons.
I have to admit that I was not in the best of moods when I took this. He was shooting the same thing for like 20 minutes :) and the lighting was getting bad.

You see, I don't use filters. So I have to shoot the early morning, delicate lighting. My window is very small, and then the glare off the water sucks. I know I need to get a CPL, but I have survived for almost 6 years without one..

Anyways, after I clued Kibbons onto my situation, he told me about this grass patch. Glad he did, and I am sure he was happy as well - as he could shoot in peace, lol.
