The Grace of Gracie

The true grace of Gracie wasn't merely her mighty leaps into the air at phantom faeries, nor her long, balletic slides at ends of hallways.
No, the grace of Gracie was simply that Gracie was.

Week 6: 16"x24" Print Give-Away
The last seven months here on Google+ have been a wonderful experience. So many new contacts around the world, so much inspiration from brilliant photographers of all sorts and so much new energy to continue doing whatever it is that I'm doing :-)
To celebrate this I'll do some weekly print give-away competitions based on my different albums.

This week the print give-away is based on my "London" gallery below. All you have to do to participate is to share this post.

By the end of saturday (GMT), the winner will be selected by random from the list of shares. And don't worry - I've been a programmer for many years. I know about randomness :-)

The winner can select any photo from the album below and will get a 16"x24" print (or smaller if preferred).

The winner will be notified by private message and encouraged to supply me with details for the shipment.

Happy Sunday all! Here is my latest applying what I learned in +Joel Tjintjelaar 's workshop. My selecting is still atrocious so the pier is not perfect, but Joel's workflow has opened up a whole new world of possibilities to me. I am eternally grateful for being allowed the opportunity to learn from him. 1000 blessings to you Joel!!! Best of luck in the future +Andrew Sanigorski you have this down pat. +Steve Hale looking forward to seeing more of your work too in the future.

Technical note: I added a radial blur to the clouds because they were so intense it was overpowering everything else in the picture.

California Dunes

I shot this from a Cessna 172 with the right door removed. We orbited as the sun was setting and the low light warmed the sand dunes.

Another one of my yesterday's walk to the OAKA (Olympic Athletic Center of Athens)
This is the only long exposure I shot as I went completely unprepared, but it did whet my appetite, so I'll be definitely going back for more of this.

Blizzard on Fifth
Weird winter so far - no snow. I guess some people like that but it's the only part of winter that I like.

Cross avenue skiing is actually pretty popular in NYC when there's a big storm.

She Always Went Against The Grain

I had so much trouble with this one - because I couldn't decide if I liked it better in full-on color or a dark and mysterious monochrome. For now, full-on color it is. However, it did get me to thinking about my flower folder. I am thinking that I will be splitting it into two folders - the color and the monochrome.

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
