An image from a couple winters ago when all of Oregon & Washington went into a deep freeze for a week causing every waterfall across the PNW to be blanketed in a suit of ice. This is Snoqualmie Falls and this trip was the last time I was able to get to the lower area of the falls before they closed it for some kind of construction until 2014 I think.

Check Out my webiste for information on prints, licensing & our 2012 workshop schedule. Sign up with a friend and I will give one of you a $50 discount or both of you a $25 one. We have just 2 spots left for Waterfalls & Workflow in April, our first workshop of the year and the only one that includes an entire day on post processing. Check it out if you are interested!

All images are copyrighted by Aaron Reed. Do NOT use my images on blogs, personal or professional websites, or any other digital media without my explicit permission. THIS MEANS NO PINTEREST, TUMBLR, REDDIT or other websites where your images get passed around without your knowledge.

Good day G+'ers. This is the image that I wanted to post yesterday, but failed due to the still buggy latest G+ app for iOS.
I'm not sure if it is coincidence, but I've noticed that a few followers have de-circled me in the past shortly after posting iPhone images. It is hard for me to believe that some people can be so purist that the mobile phone photography phenomena, perhaps even a genre, can be deemed "offensive". Regardless, it's a helluva lot of fun to play with, and I'm convinced it's here to stay.

What is your opinion? Is iPhonography a sub-standard phenomena / genre, and if so, why? It would be nice to understand such sentiments a bit better.

iPhone 4 + Hipstamatic + a bit of tweaking in Snapseed.

Into the Mist

While traveling in Vietnam last year there were many days when the weather was misty and rainy. The great thing about being a photographer is that I enjoy "crappy" weather when traveling ... granted, I don't want it pouring rain so much that my camera gets soaked, but a little drizzle and fog added beauty and ambience to my photographs that would not have been there on a sunny day.

Over the next 3 days I will be posting 3 similar photos for feed back on which one I should consider printing. This is pic 1.

Taken at a Google+ meet-up organised by +Michael N Sutton and photographers attending were +Raymond Tse, +James Lunan, +Stephen Godfrey, +Tony Gee and +Carole Diamond at Coalcliff Beach. One other photographer I wished was there is +Kieran O'Connor as this is in his local area. One day mate I'll get to shoot with you.

Snapped this as I was driving home from Dublin on the N4. As the sun began to set, the final beams of light stretched across the dual carriage-way and just managed to light this lonely tree.

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
