10 amazing TOP photos published by Google+ photography enthusiasts on February 16.

Hello, all! I won't be posting any images over the next several days as I won't have access to my 'puter. But next week I'll be back with a vengeance. A flowery, up-close and personal vengeance. Hee.

This is dedicated to +Cameron Siguenza and his wife. I don't know if they've welcomed their little one into the world yet, but I've been thinking about you guys, Cam! Hope all's well. :-)

She Was Special

the regular

Water run, part two. When I got to my cabin, the fresh snow was too good to not head out for a long ski tour. Last year at this time, the snow was so deep that it touched the bottom of the roof over the porch. Wasatch Mtns, 9000 ft. Aloha!

Come Fly With Me (view large)
From my blog: http://www.niophoto.com/come-fly-with-me/

This image above was shot during a hike near the Grand Saint-Bernard pass in Switzerland and features the mont Blanc Massif. I framed it quite aggressively to try to draw you into the image and to give the impression that you are "flying" towards them. I processed the image in black and white to emphasize the raw nature of these mountains. Most of the peaks you see have an altitude between 3500 and 4810 meters (11500 to 15750 ft), with the Mont Blanc (4810m/15750ft) being the highest.

"Night evocations..."

Under cover of darkness, the city lights flicker: stars and skyscraper constellations in a vast urban universe.

And when the night squints, small evocations come into focus: plaintive pleas and heart fluttering statements released into the city’s collective mind.

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
