My new home Kiama. I've been here many times since moving to the region when I was a teen, I'd always dreamed of someday living here, it's such a beautiful place to call home, finally!

I hope some of the local photographers have been getting out and about while this big swell has been around, fantastic opportunities for some dramatic seascapes, keep safe if you're a rock hopper like myself.

Autumn Mist

I love the mists of Autumn as they reveal the landscape in a much more minimal context and this image was nearly missed this weekend as when I awoke and looked out of the window we initially had no mist so I went back to the warmth of my bed........ Within 5 minutes of taking this image the mist had disappeared completely. Can't wait for the snows of winter now ;-)

"Traces"

A certified 'oldie, but goodie', taken with a Sony Cybershot DSCH1 5.1 MP camera during New Year's Day of 2009.

I wasn't planning on taking this shot as we just woke up that morning, but the silhouettes made by my Wife and Kids (only 2 boys at that time) were just too beautiful to pass up on.

I believe I can trace my beginnings in photography during those times...

_When I found myself slowly being drawn to images and moments such as this. _

from deep down in the valley below mount fitz roy. i chose a long shutter speed to blur the fast moving clouds… had been thinking about blending in a shorter exposure of the stream but i actually really liked the extra soft feel of the water.

Prague, Czech Republic

Besides the usual research one does before going to an unknown place, I didn't know what to expect as I awoke before sunrise on the first day of vacation and made my way by foot to the old part of the city. The streets are narrow, the buildings tall, and it can be difficult for a visitor to navigate. By chance I ended up here, and this is what I saw. I said quietly to myself, "This is going to be a great vacation."

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
