Eiffel Tower - Paris

One of the most interesting structures to take pictures of ... It just changes so much with the light and can be set in so many contexts and moods with changing points of view.

Added a few more of these to my Gallery Page:

Uninhabited

This is my first shot of the year 2012. I shot this yesterday before darkness of the night took over. The weather was very cold accompanied by very strong winds.

Good morning/evening to all my G+ friends. :)

"Light glorifies everything. It transforms and ennobles the most commonplace and ordinary subjects. The object is nothing, light is everything."

Inspirational quote from Leonard Missone

Vapour - Possibly the most expensive thing I've ever photographed, at a cost of about $339 million per aircraft - an F-22 Raptor.

Ok, let's start the New Year off right. For today's #MountainMonday curated by +Michael Russell and #MonochromeMonday curated by +Siddharth Pandit comes this image of the Alaska Range. During my first (and to date only) visit to Alaska I wanted to spend a few days on Kesugi Ridge in Denali State Park. This telephoto image of the rugged spires looked a bit blah to me in color but it came alive when I converted it to B/W. What a great location, this photo was made practically from my tent door!

I called this: The Missing Reflection

What on Earth happened here, so one of the lights did not reflect in the water, I don't know.

I dedicate this SOOC photo to +Thomas Hawk, 'coz he was my inspiration to mess with the focus ring when it came to take this shot.

Shot with Canon 5DMkII and Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8.
#MinistractMonday is curated by +Tom McLaughlan.

This is my contribution to both #MountainMonday curated by +Michael Russell and to #MirrorMonday curated by +Gemma Costa and +Elizabeth Edwards.
My friends +Luke Tingley, +Guy Schmickle and I visited this lake while out shooting fall colors in southwest Colorado a couple of years ago. We thought for sure that any chance of a reflection shot were out of the question since the winds were quite strong when we got there. Luckily we hung around and shortly before sunset the winds died and the lake was calm.

This is an older photo, shot in the area of Emmental, Switzerland, back in 2008. I was lucky (and stil is...) as my cousin lives exactly at this area (this is the "default" view from their farm) so I have visited quite often and have captured the place with all the kinds of weather. Looking at it I think I need to re-visit...

This peak (Mt Stroller White) that I've photographed from the Mendenhall Lake countless times, caught and reflected some wonderful warm light during my final (moderately) successful nature photographing session of 2011.

I'm offering this image up for #MountainMonday, curated by +Michael Russell.

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
