Blue Morning

Both towers of the Golden Gate Bridge are visible of the fog in this picture of San Francisco's skyline.

I have now been taking pictures of this bridge for about 11 months, and it has been so educational; learning different locations, studying the weather patterns, meeting like-minded people out doing the same thing, etc. Browse through this album to see some of the images I have created during this time :)

Figuring out when and where to go picture taking around the North American Strait can be a fun challenge (_North American Strait_ is the proper name for the body of water that separates the headlands on each side of the bridge). There are tide tables, web cams, satellite and radar images, and forecasts to check continually. And even when you check all of your sources ... it may not be what you expect when you get there. That is one of the things that I enjoy about it so much though!!!

Tech: does anyone really care?

Love and great pictures still exist when it snows

Some of my favorite pictures have been taken in what people would call inclement weather. I call it memorable weather.

It's not as easy working in the freezing weather but I don't expect my job to be easy and so it fits the expectation, I'm getting paid to suck it up and deal with it and not just deal... but be happy. They pay me to be a pleasure to be around not someone that's just getting by. I bundle up I wear some awesome gloves and I handle the situation and I make the couples happy.

I've always been very busy in December right around Christmas. Lots of weddings happen then because family is already gathered and the students have a break between semesters so it's perfect for them.
I'm the one they call because I'm single and no big commitments for the holidays.

This December I'll be doing 2 of my weddings in San Diego so I guess I have it easier.

Last Minute
I don't know about the rest of you... but I love booking stuff last moment. I just booked a wedding for Dec 17th and it's perfect. I keep my schedule pretty flexible to allow for these types of things.

Pin-up is the idealized versions of what some thought a particularly beautiful or attractive woman should look like and became an instant hit back in the days.
Many pin-ups were photographs of celebrities who were considered sex symbols. One of the most popular early pin-up girls was Betty Grable. Her poster was ubiquitous in the lockers of G.I.’s during World War II.

Grand Central in Blizzard

Once upon a time (during WWII)...

a young, slightly shy but quite dashing Marine met an even younger and oh-so-beautiful army nurse...

Finish the story however you'd like but promise me that you'll give it a happy ending.
(After all these two Veterans have been through in service to their country, they most certainly deserve it.)

This was shot at last year's Veteran's Day Celebration in NYC. A most magnificent day in honor of truly magnificent people. This Friday is Veteran's Day. Looking forward to seeing anyone who cares to join me at the festivities in New York.

And whether or not you agree with the politics, remember to say "Thank you" to the Veterans.

Nobu, Tokyo, Japan

At year end I bring a small team from work here to say thanks. It is owned by Master Chef Nobu Matsushia and his business Partner Robert De Niro. Amazing Japanese fusion. I can't wait to go back again this year. You reach read about last year's dinner...

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
