Serengeti
In East Africa, the light is best for wildlife photography in the morning or afternoon. Around lunch time the temperatures are too high and the flickering haze makes photography difficult, this is the best time to relax and get some rest before the afternoon session.

I wonder what he's thinking :-)

When i took a break from stalking strangers, eat something, i saw this men
with his wife ( I think she was)
I couldn’t overlook him because he is a really tall Guy. And his face with the beard
is very special.
But I was not in the mood to stop eating and run after him. So I let them go.

I was very happy when I later saw him again.
When I ask him about the project, that I shoot Strangers, he said
“I`m not a Stranger, I am from Cologne”
We both smiled. He got this typically Cologne Approach, that you find often when
you meet older Cologne Citizens. Standing with both legs on the ground and every time
in the mood to make a Joke. Even when things go bad.

He agreed for the picture and his wife said she understand that I want to took a
Picture, because he is a real character. I think she is so true.

The “shooting” was very nice. He reacts like I was not there and let me took
as much pictures as I want.

I wish you like the picture !

Photography Tip: The best weather is your biggest enemy

The worst weather for landscape/cityscape photography is a cloudless day. Just don't forget that non-photographers will think you're crazy if you complain about it so keep it to yourself and make the best out of it.

Under those circumstances I tend to do one or more of the following:

1. Limit the amount of sky in your compositions to a minimum - if possible, don't show it at all

2. Turn your image into a black and white picture using red or orange filters to turn the deep blue sky into black. Nik's Silver Efex Pro 2 is the best choice for this. That's my opinion and not a rule ;)

3. Stop shooting at all and enjoy the weather - wait a few hours until golden hour approaches.

This is for #SunsetSaturday, curated by +TJ Kelly . I took this on a backcountry camping trip in Olympic National Park on the Pacific Ocean. This image was taken a good bit after sunset using a long exposure from a tripod. I always look forward to my winter trips out there. It can be cold and lonely, but the experience of camping on the wild coast cannot be beat. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Another dog, Elan, guide dog for the blind for six years, posing like the Swinx in Egypt. This is a part of series of guide dogs pictures for a calendar, sold to raise money for The Icelandic organization of the visually impaired, new dogs and their training here in Iceland.
Black dogs are difficult to shoot in the twilight, their black fur seems to swallow all the light, so the solution is to shoot the highlights only and keep the shadows black.

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
