It's #MonochromeMonday again! This is from Zabriskie Point in Death Valley National Park. I will be heading here in about two weeks to teach a group workshop then a couple days of private instruction. On either end of the teaching, I will be exploring some new (to me) areas of the park.

This image was made during early morning light as the sun cast shadows across the badlands of Zabriskie Point.

Bali Icon - Pura Tanah Lot

Pura Tanah Lot (Tanah Lot Temple) is Hindu Temple. Located about 20 km from Denpasar, the temple sits on a huge offshore rock which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide.
Tanah Lot means "Land in the Middle of the Sea" (in Balinese language) is a famous rock formation off the Indonesian island of Bali.

Severn Bridge
Severn Bridge, Beachley, Monmouthshire, Wales.
#MinistractMonday

Another shot of the Severn Bridge, this time shrouded in late afternoon mist illuminated by the warm late day sun on one side, and the end of day cold blue on the other side.

My first post towards #MinistractMonday curated by +Tom McLaughlan.

I'm up late enough for it to already be #ActionMonday even here in Alaska. My favorite things about this photograph are the contrast between what's going on above and below the surface of the ice and also the way the rain is visible against the dark mountainside. At this point, Corey had just about climbed as far up the hard, vertical, and approaching overhung ice as he was willing to go. I'm pretty blessed to have a friend who is willing to push it in order to make the image the best it can be.

Thanks to +Adrian Buturca for curating.

Am I doing this right?

Photo by our supporter David Bowden

Now is the time for one of our wonderfull supporters!

David Bowden helped us spread the word about this project
and he was chosen to be mentioned in this supporter section.

Do you want to be seen here? Become our supporter!

How? It's easy:

This shot was taken on a Photo-Walk for a project I am working on. The buildings are the "W" Hotel (on the left) and some Condo building on the right in downtown Austin, Texas. The W is one of my favorite pieces of Architecture in downtown Austin. I think I already submitted one from a shot I took in Vancouver, but I had to do a hometown shot as well. Similar Theme here as a previous shot. I like B&W for the W hotel. Its a relatively monochrome building to begin with and this format highlights its structure and materials better than color. Slight silver tint added in post to the shot. #Architecture, #Buildings, #Skyscraper, #PlusPhotoExtract, #Austin, #Texas

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
