One more week into fall, and just one step closer to prime fall colour. Here is a prime example of how it is up the Clackamas. Yes, I just went here last week, and maybe I am a bit obsessive, but I went back up and spent all day there yesterday. Got to see a few new places and drove some roads that could make your chest hair grow. :)

Here's Blister Creek Falls, with a nice coating of fall goodness~

#SunsetSaturday - The San Francisco Bay Bridge. This comp has been done before, but everyone's gotta get it if you are in the area. I happen to live in Fremont, CA, about an hour outside of SF, and I'm in the city a lot. Bridge shots are totally overdone, but we still gotta take em for ourselves I guess. Haha. Enjoy!

From Zabriskie Point, fantastically eroded and colored badlands surround you, with Telescope Peak (the highest point in Death Valley, at 11,000 feet) and the salt pan in a distance.

During the winter, temperatures in the Valley are mild, the air more clear, and Telescope Peak snow-capped, contrasting it with the desert. By mid-March, temperatures are already too warm, sometimes reaching in the 90s or even low 100s.

The aftermath of the 40D which took an unfortunate plunge into the Pacific Ocean. Fortunately I was able to keep the body and lens for this photo. It's now my new photo prop :)

Today I was out with Darren White and Rich to Falls Creek Falls. The map said the first suspension bridge was .8 miles into the 2 mile hike to the falls. What the map didn't show was the steep incline, so .8 miles to the halfway point seemed more like 2 miles. Needless to say, we got to the falls after many rests, and we quickly realized that the destination was well worth the 800 calories it took to get there. Mad man Darren practically DIVED into the pool to get UPCLOSE and PERSONAL with any foreground element he could sick his wide angle on ( thats how he gets all his killer shots). RIch was a little more cautious, and I with my 24mm as my widest lens, stood back and had to figure out more creative ways to frame the shot. I was really impressed how we all just automatically looked for different angles- no one trying to immitate the others shot. So this is what I got.

Thanks again to Darren for leading his fearless Waterfall Photo Treks!

What is Plus Extract?

It's your DAILY dose of TOP Google Plus photographs, which were chosen by an algorithm that combines automatic steps and manual curation. This means that the DAILY TOPs are NOT based solely on popularity, and users with a small number of followers have a chance to be featured in the TOP. We use Google+ API for the automatic steps; Jarek Klimek is responsible for curation and communication with the authors.

We strongly respect the authors and their rights. +Jarek Klimek contacts every photographer featured in all DAILY TOPs and if any author decides that he/she doesn't want to be featured in the TOP, we respect this absolutely.

Catherine Hall About us and Google+

Google+ has flourished into a bustling online community for photographers – and one reason is the exceptional contribution of early adopters such as Jarek Klimek, Editor of PhotoExtract magazine.

Jarek had the foresight to research the new social network and created an authoritative list of photographers to follow on Google+.

His viral list has not only become one of the top referring resources of photography trailblazers, it is also shared and watched by leaders such as Guy Kawasaki, Robert Scoble and Darren Rowse.

Jarek has helped introduce the work of great photographers to Google+ photography enthusiasts and I was very excited to share his insights with viewers on TWiT Photo.
