how you focus on them ? have you got any technique that allows you to focus perfectly on head when its flying towards you ? I think that depth of field is that small that interval between focusing and shutter release (miliseconds) will let the bird's head fly out of focus those few centimeters. Maybe you have your camera configured to focus a little bit in front ?

I would like to report what appears to be an act of piracy on this picture. There is a person named Gabriele Corno who has been posting dozens and even hundreds of pictures on google+ every day. They seem to be popping up everywhere in G+ Most of these pictures are extraordinary and/or exquisite. There is never any reference to who actually took the photos and Mr. Corno always accepts compiments as if they were taken by him. This particular picture is on his home page on Google+ and he has been posting it online with the title „The Fly“. Thre is also no data on the images when you look at the „Photo Details“.
