"Karen, Lotus and Thomas vs The Clouds"

You've seen the view from +Karen Hutton's camera (http://goo.gl/7JTk5) and also the view of what it was like to get this image (http://goo.gl/03kfd). So now enjoy the multi level meta.

A photo of a photog taking a photo of a photog taking a photo of two other photogs. Must we go deeper? (+Thomas Hawk, +Lotus Carroll)

This scene would replay itself at least one more time before we arrived at our next destination.

Karen Hutton and Manly Beacon

The amazing and talented +Karen Hutton during the recent storming of Death Valley by Google+ photogs.

I had the privilege to share a perch with +Karen Hutton on sunday morning at Zabriskie Point, not only is she a very talented photographer (go see her photo taken at this very same spot), but she is also one of my favorite people.

"Exhibit #42"

This shoot was +Scott Jarvie's idea (or maybe it +Thomas Hawk's, I can't really remember), we hastily cleared the room and +Lotus Carroll played the role.

I was just fortunate enough to get up the stairs before the shooting started. Practice with me everyone, "I have no recollection of the events of that evening officer".

Aguereberry Mining Camp, Death Valley. 2011.

The same weather front that deprived us of a sunset on sunday, yielded beauties like this one. We were walking back from one of the most fun shoots I've done with +Lotus Carroll , +Karen Hutton , and +Thomas Hawk of an abandoned old rusted out car. I took a few photos of this landscape, then remarked: "Sure wish there was some light on the buildings". Just as I had put the camera away the clouds parted over the buildings and we had light.

Ask and you shall receive.

Twilight

Lets change things up from the deluge of Death Valley photos. I'm inspired to do more landscapes, so after consulting with +Samir Osman, I ventured out to Fort Baker to shoot the Golden Gate.

For a first effort to shoot the bridge at night, not bad. -- I'll be out there again soon since I learned quite a few things on this first outing.

Enjoy.

"Lady!, You are blocking my shot!"

The incredible +Lotus Carroll at the Racetrack in Death Valley. We had been racing around the valley all day long, driven through a washboarded road for 2 hours, and walked across the endless playa, all for this moment... and then she blocked my shot!

... not really. -- I think that right at this moment she is falling asleep at the shutter.

Ladies and Gentlemen, most of you have +Lotus Carroll in your circles, she is a gifted photographer, and if you dont follow her, do yourself a favor and add her now.

"Keeping an eye on you..."

This little guy was having an early morning outing infront of his house, I walked by and knelt down to make his portriat. Well, turns out even dogs don't like to be photographed in paris, he gave me quite a good barking, but I got my shot.

How do the PERSONAL TOPs of G+ Photos Work?

1) Any photography enthusiast can create a PERSONAL TOP consisting of his/her own Google Plus photographs. This means any existing PERSONAL top has been created by the author of the photographs that are in the TOP; there are no PERSONAL TOPs that were created automatically.

2) Only G+ photographs published by you in one of your Google+ posts should appear in your PERSONAL TOP. This means any posts you have reshared or your own posts without a G+ photo should not appear. No GIFs should be in the TOPs.

3) Contrary to the DAILY TOPs are the PERSONAL TOPs sorted solely on popularity - we use Plus PopRank to sort these. The Plus PopRank formula is: Plus PopRank(of a post) = +1s + (2 x comments) + (4 x reshares)

Example: Let's say that a particular post has 25 +1s, 10 comments and 3 reshares. This means its Plus PopRank is 57 (= 25 + 2x10 + 4*3).
