Earlier in the morning, one of the peacocks was in the pine tree. I was hoping he'd stay until the sun came up, but he opted for an earlier flight. But I was ready! I applied a texture for my dear friend +Gemma Costa :-) who loves peacocks and textures.

Do you ever wonder if the conspiracy theorists are right? What's your opinion? Sky was perfectly clear when I began shooting this morning. A couple of low clouds right on the horizon. After several planes went by, crossing their lines in quite a few places, it looked like this. Hazy throughout. I'm not saying I understand anything or believe anything, but I am starting to keep track of the days when I see this happening, this lack of contrail dissipation. Noting the temperature, and the location of flight paths. I don't know or believe anything, just sayin'...it's a little weird.

Rainy day today. A good day to stay indoors and stay on top of what is being revealed on +Chrysta Rae 's page! The scavenger hunt photos are awesome. If you haven't been over there yet, you gotta go look!

We finally got a little burst of winter today. It's been blizzarding all day long. No real snow accumulation though. This morning I opted to wait until there was better light...that didn't happen until after 4 pm, and so here it is, the afternoon sunrise. :-)

I know I haven't been on G+ much and I haven't gotten around to anyone's shares, which saddens me... The offline world is quite plentiful these days! I'm glad for this project because it keeps me a little bit connected at least. Thinking of you and hoping you're staying warm.

Lens flare lips. A post valentine's kiss from above? And since I spent all day yesterday preparing for the big opening last night (which went very well), today I'm going to take the day off and only do things I love. Have a lovely day plussers!

A dull day out there, so I didn't go out to shoot the dreary horizon. I was called outside though, by a couple of passing geese that were honking loudly. I think they were trying to catch up with their flock. I don't have the lens for a closeup shot so I thought I'd get playful using textures. This one's for you +Gemma Costa

The scavenger hunt is ended and I can finally make the album public. Yay! A huge whopping round of applause to +Alan Shapiro +Lotus Carroll and +Thomas Hawk for the daunting task of judging the amazing plethora of talent, what, something like 2500 total images (250ish times 10? OMG!!). And a giant round of applause, four nights on the beach and 24 hours of four hand massage therapy goes to +Chrysta Rae for pulling it all together. I'm so excited to say that this image of the hibiscus flower placed First, Third and an Honorable Mention for the Orange category. The next image in the album placed Third in the Flower category, and the third image (the dancing statue) received an honorable mention for the Skin category. I'm totally stoked! Whooo!

How do the PERSONAL TOPs of G+ Photos Work?

1) Any photography enthusiast can create a PERSONAL TOP consisting of his/her own Google Plus photographs. This means any existing PERSONAL top has been created by the author of the photographs that are in the TOP; there are no PERSONAL TOPs that were created automatically.

2) Only G+ photographs published by you in one of your Google+ posts should appear in your PERSONAL TOP. This means any posts you have reshared or your own posts without a G+ photo should not appear. No GIFs should be in the TOPs.

3) Contrary to the DAILY TOPs are the PERSONAL TOPs sorted solely on popularity - we use Plus PopRank to sort these. The Plus PopRank formula is: Plus PopRank(of a post) = +1s + (2 x comments) + (4 x reshares)

Example: Let's say that a particular post has 25 +1s, 10 comments and 3 reshares. This means its Plus PopRank is 57 (= 25 + 2x10 + 4*3).
