I just realized that my stream contains not that many photos, gosh!

Colorize - some cold freshwater for +Giuseppe Basile's #thirstythursday.

This is obviously a play with false colors (I think I have a different version in another album). I found the odd combination of a "cold" scenery with warm colors appealing. During the winter days I made a whole series of photos of that location and later also revisited it in Spring and Summer. But I've yet to compile them into a small series that makes sense...

Something simple and catchy for #fallfriday - while going through my photos of Burghausen's Wöhrsee (lake) after posting yesterday evening's photo, I stumbled upon this old photo that I made in 2007. I think I might be able to gather enough photos for a nice little portfolio "Wöhrsee through the seasons" or something. It's always interesting to see how themes slowly evolve and can include old and half-forgotten photos.

Layers and Light

This is one of the photos I used on my blog to illustriate different approaches of post processing and, needless to say, the artistic freedom to do so. The scenery is just what it is, but the photo you make should show your vision of it, and you should not get irritated by what others do and say.

Oaks in fresh snow - and here's a photo from Laguna Mountains after they were hit by an early winter storm, while the oaks had just turned to a beautiful display of yellow-golden fall colors. This photo was made in the afternoon, the sun was backlighting the trees, but the snow was mostly gone from the trees already.

How do the PERSONAL TOPs of G+ Photos Work?

1) Any photography enthusiast can create a PERSONAL TOP consisting of his/her own Google Plus photographs. This means any existing PERSONAL top has been created by the author of the photographs that are in the TOP; there are no PERSONAL TOPs that were created automatically.

2) Only G+ photographs published by you in one of your Google+ posts should appear in your PERSONAL TOP. This means any posts you have reshared or your own posts without a G+ photo should not appear. No GIFs should be in the TOPs.

3) Contrary to the DAILY TOPs are the PERSONAL TOPs sorted solely on popularity - we use Plus PopRank to sort these. The Plus PopRank formula is: Plus PopRank(of a post) = +1s + (2 x comments) + (4 x reshares)

Example: Let's say that a particular post has 25 +1s, 10 comments and 3 reshares. This means its Plus PopRank is 57 (= 25 + 2x10 + 4*3).
