Bracebridge Pumping Station is in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. Built in 1881 as part of the towns sewage system using a steam driven beam engine to pump effluent to processing facilities. The steam was produced from coal , brought by boat from Shireoaks Colliery...

The engine house, boiler shed, offices and a house for the
attendant cost £7,000. The twin beam engines, the
boilers and pumps cost a further £4,500. It was
capable of pumping 400,000 gallons of water every 12
hours. Coal was brought by barge to power the boiler
and beam engines. The original machinery was
dismantled after World War II and electric pumps were
installed...

The Cobweb Bridge, also known as Spider Bridge, is located in the city centre of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, near the disused Sheffield Victoria railway station. It was completed in 2002. Its design was the solution to a difficult problem - how to pass the riverside cycle-walkway (Five Weirs Walk) under the massive Wicker Arches viaduct and at the same time link one bank of the River Don to the other. Without the bridge, the footpath would have had to make a one mile detour...

Designed by Sheffield City Council\'s Structures Section, the entire 100 metres long bridge is suspended on a web of steel cables secured to the underside of the Viaduct, hence the name. The theme is completed by large steel spiders concealing the lighting on the ceiling...

The bridge is prone to vandalism, the wires forming the parapet have been stolen more than once...

How do the PERSONAL TOPs of G+ Photos Work?

1) Any photography enthusiast can create a PERSONAL TOP consisting of his/her own Google Plus photographs. This means any existing PERSONAL top has been created by the author of the photographs that are in the TOP; there are no PERSONAL TOPs that were created automatically.

2) Only G+ photographs published by you in one of your Google+ posts should appear in your PERSONAL TOP. This means any posts you have reshared or your own posts without a G+ photo should not appear. No GIFs should be in the TOPs.

3) Contrary to the DAILY TOPs are the PERSONAL TOPs sorted solely on popularity - we use Plus PopRank to sort these. The Plus PopRank formula is: Plus PopRank(of a post) = +1s + (2 x comments) + (4 x reshares)

Example: Let's say that a particular post has 25 +1s, 10 comments and 3 reshares. This means its Plus PopRank is 57 (= 25 + 2x10 + 4*3).
