She Faded Softly Into The Background

I have been asked by several people to show how I take my floral shots. +Jonathon Pruessner took video of me taking a couple of shots this weekend and I am going to take a look at it and see if it shows my light set up and where I take a lot of my shots. As for this one, I initially thought it would be a black and white (and there are others of this flower that will be), but then this morning, I got up with a different idea. And it is now creamy-soft colors showing how the edges changed to a pink.

Even With The Light, There Are Always Shadows In Her Heart.

Good morning, good morning!!! And good afternoon and good evening! :D I have been going through and processing a ton of flower photos lately and this one just happened to catch my eye yesterday. It isn't a 'perfect' flower, but it has so much character, that in my eyes, it is beyond perfect! :D

Blurring The Depths Of Black And White

Today is going to be a busy busy day! I have my selfy to take for +Selfy Sunday (which is hosted by the most awesome of dudes - +Levi Moore and +Jeff Smith), I have some serious cleaning to do around here. It is feeling like spring in Tucson instead of the end of January. And I picked up some really exotic flowers yesterday that I need to start photographing. I am super excited about those!

She Was A Little Nitty-Gritty

When I took this one, I purposefully took it so that the graininess would come through after I processed it black and white. I wanted it to have that vintage feel of black and white film, whether it was a photograph or an old reel movie. I am really happy with how this turned out.

Against The Wind

This one... this one I think is one of my favorites that I took this last weekend. I had a really hard time with it. It couldn't decide if it wanted to be full color or a monochrome. In the end, we (the photograph and myself) compromised and went with a desaturated look to enhance the fine hairs and the crinkled petal.

Reflections Of Light Shown Through

It seems I am getting a reputation... ;) As a "crazy flower lady". LOL! At least +Kerry Murphy is right there with me! :D Although, I much prefer the titled that +Karen Hutton came up with - "Luscious Flower Lady". I am thinking that may go in my "other names" part of my profile! HA!

She Always Went Against The Grain

I had so much trouble with this one - because I couldn't decide if I liked it better in full-on color or a dark and mysterious monochrome. For now, full-on color it is. However, it did get me to thinking about my flower folder. I am thinking that I will be splitting it into two folders - the color and the monochrome.

3) Contrary to the DAILY TOPs are the PERSONAL TOPs sorted solely on popularity - we use Plus PopRank to sort these. The Plus PopRank formula is: Plus PopRank(of a post) = +1s + (2 x comments) + (4 x reshares)

Example: Let's say that a particular post has 25 +1s, 10 comments and 3 reshares. This means its Plus PopRank is 57 (= 25 + 2x10 + 4*3).
